About this screen
Mega-caps are the very largest public companies. Their weight in market-cap-weighted indexes is so large that a handful of them can drive the return of the whole market in a given year. Most are global leaders in technology, finance, healthcare, energy or consumer goods, and they are widely held by index funds and pension plans.
The list includes ADRs of foreign companies listed in the US. Size brings liquidity and broad analyst coverage, but not immunity from large declines. Switch to the Valuation tab to compare P/E and price-to-sales ratios across the group, or the Performance tab to see which of the largest companies are leading or lagging this year.
