About this screen
Semiconductor companies design and manufacture the chips inside phones, PCs, cars, factories and data centers, plus the equipment and materials used to make them. The industry is cyclical: inventory builds and cuts can swing revenue sharply from one year to the next, while long-term demand from computing, connectivity and artificial intelligence keeps investors focused on the group. This list keeps chip makers with a market cap of at least $2 billion.
The default sort puts the biggest companies first, and the Growth tab shows quarterly and multi-year revenue and EPS growth side by side. Switch to Valuation to see whether fast growth is already priced in through forward P/E or EV/Sales. Because chip earnings peak and trough with the cycle, a low trailing P/E near a peak can be misleading. Treat the list as a research starting point, not a ranking of future returns.
Best Semiconductor Stocks to Buy in 2026 FAQ
Which semiconductor stocks are the largest?
As of the October 29, 2026 close, 66 semiconductor and chip equipment stocks had a market cap of $2 billion or more. The largest companies on the list are NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSM) and Broadcom Inc. (AVGO).
Why are semiconductor stocks so volatile?
Chip demand moves in cycles. When customers overbuild inventory, orders fall quickly and revenue can drop for several quarters before recovering. High fixed costs magnify the effect on profits, so share prices often swing more than the broader market.
What is the difference between fabless and foundry chip companies?
A fabless company designs chips but outsources manufacturing. A foundry manufactures chips designed by other companies. Integrated device manufacturers do both. Fabless firms usually have lighter balance sheets, while foundries spend heavily on new plants.
