About this screen
Electric vehicle stocks cover the companies building the shift away from combustion engines: manufacturers of electric cars, trucks and buses, operators of charging networks, and makers of batteries, battery materials and drivetrain components. Many are young companies growing quickly from a small base, while others are established firms whose business now centers on EVs. Investors use the theme to track electrification of transport.
Theme membership is assigned from company descriptions and reviewed by hand, so it may miss companies with smaller EV operations. The list opens on the Growth tab because many members are not yet profitable and P/E is often blank. Compare revenue growth with the current ratio, a rough indicator of short-term liquidity, and check 1Y performance, which varies widely. Unprofitable companies may need to raise capital, diluting shareholders.
Electric Vehicle Stocks FAQ
Which electric vehicle stocks are the largest?
As of the October 29, 2026 close, 20 US-listed companies were tagged with the electric vehicle theme. The largest companies on the list are Tesla, Inc. (TSLA), Ford Motor Company (F) and VinFast Auto Ltd. (VFS).
Why are many EV stocks unprofitable?
Building vehicles requires large investments in factories, tooling and battery supply before sales reach scale. Newer companies often lose money for years while they ramp production, and price competition can keep margins thin even after volumes rise.
What does the current ratio show?
The current ratio divides current assets, such as cash and receivables, by liabilities due within a year. A ratio above 1 means short-term assets cover short-term obligations. For cash-burning companies it is a rough signal of how much runway remains.
