About this screen

Semiconductor equipment companies sell the machines and materials used to build chips: lithography systems, etch and deposition tools, wafer inspection and metrology, plus wafers, gases and chemicals. Their revenue follows the capital spending plans of foundries and memory makers rather than sales of finished devices, so orders often turn before the rest of the chip industry does. That makes the group a closely watched signal of where the cycle is heading.

Sorted by market cap, the list starts with the large toolmakers and ends with smaller materials and component suppliers. The Growth tab shows how revenue and EPS have changed over the latest quarter and over three and five years. Check the Technicals tab for distance from the 52-week high and the Profitability tab for gross margin, which tends to be high for companies with hard-to-replace tools.

Semiconductor Equipment Stocks FAQ

Which semiconductor equipment stocks are the largest?

As of the October 29, 2026 close, 25 semiconductor equipment and materials stocks had a market cap of $500 million or more. The largest companies on the list are ASML Holding N.V. (ASML), Applied Materials, Inc. (AMAT) and Lam Research Corporation (LRCX).

What drives semiconductor equipment demand?

Demand depends on how much chip makers spend on new and upgraded factories. Capacity expansions, new process nodes and memory price cycles all affect those budgets. Export rules on advanced tools can also shift where and how much equipment is sold.

How are equipment stocks different from chip stocks?

Chip companies sell to device makers, while equipment companies sell to chip makers. Equipment orders tend to rise and fall earlier and more sharply, because factory spending is cut quickly in a downturn and restarted ahead of a recovery.
