About this screen
Midstream companies move and store energy between the wellhead and the end user: oil and gas pipelines, gathering systems, processing plants, export terminals and storage tanks. Much of their revenue comes from long-term, fee-based contracts tied to volumes rather than prices, which makes cash flow steadier than for producers. That stability supports the high dividends and distributions income investors look for in the group.
The list is sorted by yield. Many midstream businesses are master limited partnerships (MLPs), which pay distributions and send unitholders a Schedule K-1 instead of a 1099, so check the structure before buying in a retirement account. Payout ratio based on EPS often looks high because of large depreciation charges; FCF yield and years of dividend growth in the Dividends tab give a clearer view of coverage.
Pipeline and Midstream Stocks FAQ
Which midstream stocks have the highest yields?
As of the October 29, 2026 close, 28 midstream companies worth over $1 billion yielded 4% or more. The highest yields were DHT Holdings, Inc. (DHT), Nordic American Tankers Limited (NAT) and FLEX LNG Ltd. (FLNG).
What is an MLP?
A master limited partnership is a publicly traded partnership that generally pays no corporate income tax and passes income through to its unitholders. Most qualify through energy transportation or storage income. Investors receive a Schedule K-1 for tax reporting.
Why are midstream stocks less sensitive to oil prices?
Pipelines are typically paid a fee per barrel or per unit of gas moved, often under multi-year contracts with minimum volume commitments. Prices still matter indirectly, because sustained low prices reduce drilling and eventually throughput.
