About this screen

Blue chips are large, well-known companies with established businesses and broad investor ownership. This screen defines them simply by size, a market cap of $100 billion or more, and keeps only those paying a meaningful dividend. The result is a short list that spans banks, pharmaceutical companies, energy majors, consumer brands and telecoms, often used as a starting point for the core of an income portfolio.

The list is sorted by market cap, largest first. Use the Dividends tab to compare yield, payout ratio and years of dividend growth, since size alone does not guarantee a reliable payout. Several mega-caps pay small dividends below 2% and are left out. Foreign companies listed through ADRs can appear here; their dividends may be subject to withholding tax and currency changes.

Blue-Chip Dividend Stocks FAQ

Which large companies pay the best dividends?

As of the October 29, 2026 close, 62 US-listed companies worth $100 billion or more had a dividend yield of at least 2%. The largest companies on the list are Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM), AbbVie Inc. (ABBV) and Chevron Corporation (CVX).

What is a blue-chip stock?

There is no formal definition. The term usually refers to large, financially sound companies with long operating histories and well-known brands. Market cap thresholds vary, and this page uses $100 billion.

Are blue-chip dividends safer than small-cap dividends?

Large companies tend to have more diversified revenue and easier access to financing, which can help them keep paying in downturns. They are not immune to cuts, however, so payout ratio and debt still matter.
