About this screen
When a stock trades well above the average analyst price target, either the shares have run ahead of what analysts think the business is worth or the analysts have not caught up with new information. It often happens after strong rallies, surprise results or takeover speculation. Contrarian investors use the list to look for stretched valuations, and holders use it to check whether a position has outrun estimates.
Analysts often raise targets after a stock rises, so a gap can close without the price falling. Look at the rating column too: a stock above its target can still carry a Buy consensus. Compare valuation in the Valuation tab and recent momentum in the Performance tab before drawing conclusions about whether the price has run too far.

What does it mean if a stock is above its price target?
It means the current price is higher than where analysts, on average, expect it to trade in 12 months. That implies they see downside from here, at least until they revise their targets.
Should I sell a stock that is above its price target?
A price target is one opinion among many and often lags the news. Many investors use the gap as a prompt to review the valuation and thesis rather than as a signal on its own.
