About this screen
The term dividend aristocrat comes from the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats index, which requires 25 years of consecutive increases and membership in the S&P 500. This screen uses only the 25-year growth record and a market cap floor, so it can include companies outside the official index, such as mid-caps and foreign companies listed in the US. A quarter century of increases usually means the payout survived several recessions.
The list is sorted by the length of the growth streak. Open the Dividends tab to see current yield, payout ratio and the 5-year dividend growth rate, which show whether a long streak is still backed by meaningful raises or kept alive with token increases. Streaks are counted from calendar-year totals, so a company may appear here before or after it changes status in the official index.
Dividend Aristocrats: 25+ Years of Dividend Growth FAQ
How many stocks have raised dividends for 25 years in a row?
As of the October 29, 2026 close, 88 US-listed stocks with a market cap above $3 billion had increased their yearly dividend for at least 25 consecutive years. The longest streaks on the list belong to Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), The Coca-Cola Company (KO) and PepsiCo, Inc. (PEP).
Is this the official S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats list?
No. The official index also requires S&P 500 membership and meets size and liquidity rules set by the index provider. This page uses the 25-year growth record and a $3 billion market cap floor only, so it includes some companies that are not in the index.
What happens when an aristocrat cuts its dividend?
A single cut or freeze resets the streak to zero, and the company drops off lists like this one. Index providers remove such companies at their next rebalance. That is why the payout ratio and earnings trend matter as much as the length of the record.
