About this screen

When a large company trades well below its 200-day average, the market has turned against it for months, not days. Trend followers avoid or sell such stocks, while value investors look through the list for established businesses whose shares may have fallen further than their earnings justify. The $5 billion floor keeps the focus on well-known companies.

Being far below the average is not a buy signal: downtrends can last for years when the business is deteriorating. Switch to the Valuation tab to see whether the drop has made the stock cheap on earnings or sales, and to the Analysts tab for price targets. The 52-week high column shows the size of the decline.

Stocks Below the 200-Day Moving Average FAQ

Which large stocks are furthest below their 200-day average?

As of the October 29, 2026 close, 276 stocks with a market cap above $5 billion traded at least 10% below their 200-day moving average. The furthest below it were Planet Labs PBC (PL), AST SpaceMobile Inc (ASTS) and Joby Aviation, Inc. (JOBY).

What does trading below the 200-day moving average mean?

It means the current price is lower than the average of the last 200 closes, which usually indicates a long-term downtrend. A move back above it is often seen as a sign of recovery.

Is a stock below its 200-day average a bargain?

Not necessarily. The price may be falling for good reasons, such as shrinking profits. Compare valuation, earnings trends and debt before judging whether the decline is overdone.
