How to add the Ticker Tape to your website
- Type up to 20 symbols above and choose the size, theme, style and speed. The preview shows exactly what your visitors will see.
- Click Copy code.
- Paste the code into your page’s HTML where the strip should appear and publish. For a strip across the top of every page, paste it at the start of your site’s header, right after the opening
<body>tag.
The code has two parts: a <div> that lists the symbols and holds the Quotelinks link, and a <script> that draws the strip:
<div class="ql-tickertape" data-symbols="AAPL,MSFT,NVDA,AMZN,SPY,QQQ" data-theme="light">
Stock quotes by <a href="https://www.quotelinks.com/">Quotelinks</a>
</div>
<script src="https://www.quotelinks.com/widgets/tickertape.js" async></script>
Clicking a symbol opens its quote page on Quotelinks in a new tab, so your page stays open. If JavaScript is turned off, visitors see the Quotelinks link.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Ticker Tape free?
Yes. It is free for personal and commercial websites, with no sign-up and no API key. The only condition is that the Quotelinks link in the embed code stays in place and visible.
How many symbols can I show?
Up to 20 US stocks and ETFs per tape. Leave data-symbols out and the tape shows the largest US companies plus SPY and QQQ.
How often are the prices updated?
The tape shows end-of-day data: the latest official close and the daily change. It updates after each US market close; you never have to change the code.
Does it show real-time quotes?
No. Each symbol links to its full quote page on Quotelinks, which opens in a new tab so your page stays open.
Can I stop it from scrolling?
Yes. Set data-speed="still" and visitors swipe or scroll the strip themselves. Scrolling also pauses while the mouse is over it, and visitors who have reduced motion turned on in their system settings always get the still version.
Will it slow down my site?
No. The script is about 4 KB compressed, loads with async, and makes one small request per tape. It pauses its animation when the strip is scrolled out of view.
Can I put it on every page?
Yes. Paste the code into the part of your theme or site builder that appears on every page, usually the header. Include the script once per page.
Will my site's CSS change the tape?
No. The tape is drawn inside a Shadow DOM, so your styles don't change it and its styles don't leak into your page.
